Who we are

What we collect

We have no accounts, no newsletter and no analytics of our own. The observation tool on our contact page runs entirely in your browser; it does not send anything to us. We receive personal data only when you choose to email us, typically your name, email address, message content and any photographs you attach.

Why we use it

We use what you send to reply, to consider corrections and, with your explicit permission, to quote an observation on the site. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and maintaining accurate content, or your consent where we publish material.

How long we keep it

We keep correspondence for up to 24 months, then delete it unless it relates to published content, in which case we keep the minimum needed to support that content.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under contract. We share data with authorities only where the law requires.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing. Email us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
